We know that it can be very difficult to buy yarn online without seeing the colours first. Under each of our differents yarns we have a thumbnail of each colour but we think that seeing them together gives a more true refection. The 21 colours shown represent the palette for Plump and Plump DK. Pudding also uses a smaller selection of 11 of these colours. If you would like more help just drop an email on [email protected].
So today, 11th February 2016, is such a big day for Susan and me. We have spent the last six years building Mrs Moon into what it is today and we feel so excited and a little bit proud that our first book is being published!
Since CICO Books first approached us to write Simple Chic Knits, we have kept having to pinch ourselves that it is real, but now that it's actually out there is just amazing!
Designing has become part of our lives and although we have had so much feedback from our lovely customers of designs that they have made, there is something so special about seeing them in print.
We popped out for an hour or so this morning to Richmond and the lovely people at Pret gave us a latter on the house to celebrate! How lovely is that?! The sun in shining, spring is on its way and even though it looked as though our local Waterstone's has ditched its Craft section (a mistake surely?... haven't they heard about us???!!) things are looking rosy.
While building up to today we have also been manically working on our new website which you are looking at now. It marks the complete transition from bricks and mortar shop to the Mrs Moon we are today and we think it is rather lovely!
Thank you to Matthew and all the team at Infomagnet for making it such a success... and being patient... !
Onwards and upwards! Next stop, Knit & Stitch at Olympia!
We are so excited about the publication of our first ever book - Simple Chic Knits. We have been working on the book for the last year and have put a lot of love, time and effort into making sure people who love Mrs Moon will love Simple Chic Knits!
The book includes designs for women, men and children, plus accessories and toys. There are comprehensive instructions for techniques used in the book and advice is given on how to substitute yarns if you need to.
We had a really lovely weekend at The Handmade Fair . The weather was perfect, the company great and we met lots of customers old and new. A favourite at the show were our new super simple bobble hats - we have made some pompoms out of Plump to go with them which were flying out of the tent.
All the samples are available as patterns to make on the website so if you came and were undecided have a look at our projects section now.
We're busy packing for our favourite event of the year, Yarndale which runs next Saturday and Sunday (26th/27th September). I hope we have as much fun there.
We had a lovely start to show season with our day at Yarn in the City Pop-Up Marketplace. The day began with the easiest set-up we have ever had. Allison and Rachel from Yarn in the City had made sure that everything ran incredibly smoothly and we were so grateful!
The Pop-up Marketplace was a new iniative for this year and marked the start of the various yarn crawls around London. The show had about 30 exhibitors, designer spotlights and a lovely cafe which is always a bonus!
We met lots of new friends and plenty of old.. it was lovely to catch up with so many people. Our stand was next to Hannah Bass who creates fabulous tapestry versions of city maps... Triskelion Yarn and Toft with their lovely crocheted menagerie. The perfect corner for us.
It was a great day out.... next up is The Handmade Fair.
It can be tough coming back to work after the exotic breaks that we have had over the summer, but when the first week back includes at day out in Chelsea, things get a little bit easier. We are really excited to be exhibiting at Yarn in the City's pop up marketplace which is at Chelsea Old Town Hall on Saturday 5th September. You can find all the information about the day here
